iTunes troubles

iTunes is currently causing me a lot of trouble. As I tried to plug in my shiny new, directly out of the box, ipad 2 and sync it to iTunes, the program decided to do an update. However, the update insists on failing leaving me without a working iTunes. I have tried uninstalling , reinstalling, installing the software updates through the Apple Software Update, but to no avail.

In my quest for a working program where I can simply get my ipad up and running I tried to download and install iTunes on my other computer (I’m a Techgirl, ofcourse I have more than one computer…). The pattern repeats itself again. iTunes simply will not co-operate with my Windows 7 computers.

If any of you readers have any suggestions to how I should proceed, by all means, please share your wisdom!

LA sightseeing at The Grove

On my first day in LA i decided to do some light sightseeing and just enjoy the nice warm weather. I went to the shopping district called “The Grove”.  The entire place was decorated for Halloween which was a lot of fun to see. Halloween is not a Swedish tradition (although it has grown in popularity with the kids in the last 10 years) so I am not that used to seeing grown ups and children alike dressed up in full costume in the middle of the day.

Beside all the pumpkins and spooky stuff it is easy to see that Christmas is just around the corner with christmas lights and trees popping up everywhere. At The Grove they were in the process of raising a huge tree which will look really nice I think once it’s all done. I must admit however that walking around in shorts and sunglasses so close to Christmas is a first for me!

Being a TechGirl I can’t help but notice tech-related things in my everyday life. Here I passed the Apple store which had a huge line outside with people waiting for something. I did not quite understand what the commotion was all about, but I am guessing they are waiting for their iphone 4S.

This is just wrong…

Even though I have yet to find a real use for the iPad in my everyday life before I actually invest in one, it doesn’t stop me from reading what other people think of this device.  I happened to stumple upon this video, and it just hurts everywhere in my sensitive little tech-heart. No gadget deserves to go this way…

Mac vs PC

During the last couple of years I have noticed more people in my social network having gone over to the world of Mac’s. I discovered this brutally at a conference where I was in extreme minority with my nice Acer computer while the rest of the participants showed off their MacBook Airs. In other words, I keep myself steadily rooted in the PC-corner.

However, there is obviously something magical with Apple’s computers which makes everyone burst into tears of joy. In all honesty I can say neither yey or ney since I haven’t played around with a Mac since the early 1990′s. But I still can’t help wondering what the big fuss is all about…
